About Us

Parradice Ranch is owned by Jose Parra and April Lee. Our location in Shadow Hills, CA gives us easy access to some of the major Southern California racetracks including Santa Anita, Hollywood Park, Los Alamitos, and Fairplex. We are also close to major show grounds including the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.

April was born and raised in Burbank, California. She received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. April also attended and completed all three components of the Equine Reproduction Short Course at Colorado State University earning a certificate in Equine Reproduction Management and Artificial Insemination as well as certificates for handling and utilyzing both Cooled Shipped and Frozen semen. She has been studying Parelli Natural horsemanship for 10 years and is currently working on obtaining her Level 2 certificate. April is responsible for overseeing the day do day care of the farm stallion and mares. She is also responsible for all aspects of ground training.

Parradice Ranch specializes in breeding and raising purebred Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred foals for the purpose of racing and showing in Southern California. We currently have two race-bred fillies. Dee May Cuando is co-owned by Jose Parra and William Emerson and is currently training well at Santa Anita Race Track. We take pride in our breeding program and are proud to stand the Gold Dun Champagne stallion Hollywood Dream. There is one 2008 half-arabian blue roan colt by our late stallion Underlying Secret that can be seen on our foals page. He was bred and is owned by Belle View Farms. Due to the untimely lost of Secret we chose not to breed for any 2009 foals. We have two mares confirmed in foal to Hollywood for the 2010 foals. Hollywood does not stand to the public at this time.
