Dun Skip N Champagne is our new AQHA Stallion prospect. He is a rare Amber Dun Champagne which means he carries both the Dun and the Champagne dilution genes! His sire is the gorgeous AQHA grullo stallion, Skippas Dun Smokin and his dam is the Amber Champagne mare Josans Poco Lady Ann.
This colt has great conformation and a super disposition. At 11 months old he stands 12.3 hands. He is very quiet and calm and has a laid back attitude about everything. We hope to show him in reining or cow events as a two year old and stand him to the public in 2010!
We are currently in the process of getting the paperwork together to submit applications for registration with the ABRA, IBHA, FQHA and NFQHA. He is also registered with the ICHR. Stay tuned for more pictures as soon as he sheds his winter woolies!
Champ's DNA Results are in. He is homozygous black which means he can NEVER produce a sorrel, palomino or red dun. He is also negative for Overo Lethal White and does not carry the HERDA gene. He does, however, carry the GBED gene. Mares being bred to him should be tested for GBED prior to breeding.
